Hello! I’m Michelle Lui, a designer, researcher, and educator — I design emerging technology and research how we learn with technology and with each other. In addition, I teach courses on digital media, immersive environments, and gameful learning.
I create extended reality experiences to help learners ‘see’ the world differently.
Currently, I am an Assistant Professor at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto. I investigate design factors that enhance understanding in immersive learning environments, like virtual reality. In addition, I am exploring how physiological measures, like eye-tracking and psychophysiological techniques, can augment more traditional methods — to further examine the connections between sensorimotor activity, embodied interactions, and human cognition.
